Rail and transport corridor network

The regional movement toward a land-linked Africa is gaining momentum, backed by infrastructure investment and technical partnerships.

Following the confirmation of six major SADC ports, railway stakeholders including TAZARA, Zambia Railways Limited, Botswana Railways, the Southern African Railway Association, Lobito Atlantic Railway, Traxtion, Congo Railways, Transnet, CFM, and others were positioned to join the conversation at Land-Linked Zambia 2026.

Why This Matters

Strategic nexus: From the Lobito Corridor to TAZARA revitalisation, Zambia is a central hub where regional corridors meet.

Modernized infrastructure: Investments in rail rehabilitation and track technology support long-term corridor reliability.

Private sector power and capacity: Private rail operators and suppliers can support locomotive leasing, maintenance, and operational capacity.

When rail, sea, and private enterprise connect, the cost of doing business can drop significantly and regional transport policy can deliver real value.
